Oak Cliff Foundation

The Oak Cliff Foundation was founded in 1973 as the philanthropic arm of the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce. Our mission remains to improve life in Oak Cliff through economic development, bea  utification, and education.

In 2001, the foundation took a big step to improve life in Oak Cliff by purchasing the historic Texas Theatre on Jefferson Boulevard. The vision of the foundation is to see a cleaner, safer and diverse series of businesses along Jefferson Boulevard. The revitalization of the Texas Theatre will create a new destination for the performing arts and movies in Oak Cliff.

Additionally, the Oak Cliff Foundation in partnership with the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce has begun median improvements along Zang Boulevard.

The Oak Cliff Alumni Association is housed at the Oak Cliff Foundation. The association keeps folks up to date on Oak Cliff happenings and provides an outlet to make a difference in your hometown of yesteryear.

Finally, the Oak Cliff Foundation issues scholarships to deserving students and teachers to underscore the importance we place on educating Oak Cliffites and our local institutions of learning con i prestiti pensionati.

The Oak Cliff Foundation is proud to be a catalyst for diverse economic development along Jefferson Boulevard with the redevelopment of the Texas Theatre into a performing arts venue and movie house. Our partners, Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce, Dallas Summer Musicals, City of Dallas, Komatsu Architecture, are Phoenix I Restoration and Construction are working together to make the Texas Theatre a first-class facility.

Once renovated, the theater will be available for rental and will provide quality performances to the community. The Texas Theatre will be home to the “Tours from the Texas”, which is a live performance series that will be produced in Oak Cliff, debut in the Texas Theatre, and will travel to 10 Texas cities.
